- CAN WE AGREE ON CRITERIA BY WHICH
TO ACCEPT OR REJECT TRAINING COURSES?
content of syllabus?
academic background of
trainers?
quality of teaching - who can
judge?
length of study?
on what basis are trainee teachers
selected?
- CAN WE AGREE ON CRITERIA BY
WHICH TO ACCEPT OR REJECT TRAINEES?
is it enough that the trainee has
followed the course or modules?
or does an experienced teacher have to
approve or "fail" the trainee-teacher's performance? - if so, on
what basis? How are these "examiners" selected?
who is competent to give such
approval? Who is competent to refuse it?
can we find an alternative to
'failure'? e.g. "Not now but later - everyone's
developing..."
What about living our
suggestopedia - aren't we teaching that each one of us is
unique and valuable as we are, without being measured
against some outside standard, and being approved, or
judged to have failed?
So how does this square with the idea of acceptence or
rejection of performance as a teacher, or as a
school?
