9th International SEAL Conference

The King's School Canterbury, Kent, UK

29 March - 1/2 April 2001

'Opening Minds'

Travel by Car

Parking in the centre of Canterbury is almost impossible. You are strongly advised to come by train.

However, the City operates a very good system of 'Park & Ride'. So if you want to come by car, we recommend that you drive straight to The King's School, where you can wait long enough to register and drop off your luggage. Then you can drive to one of the two 'Park & Ride' car parks, 10 minutes from the School and return by special bus. Parking costs £1.40 per day which includes the bus journeys (for up to six people). Ask for special directions when you register.

The single en suite accommodation is all at Canterbury Christ Church University College. If you are staying there and have a car, you will be able to find parking space available from Friday evening and for the rest of the weekend.

Follow the black roads. Basically follow the signs to MARGATE and you can't go wrong. When you reach The Borough, get ready to turn sharp left into the school at the red telephone box.

Please note that pedestrian access to The King's School via the Quenin Gate is restricted. Allow extra time to walk round Broad Street to the Main Entrance if necessary.
