One basic concept in all this is that a document which is shown on the web is considered to be 'interactive': people live with an acute consciousness that no-one has the possibility of reading everything, so that - unlike a book. where the assumption is that one begins at the beginning, goes on till one comes to the ed, and then stops - the possibility has been programmed in to go between all the different parts of a document, by a simple 'click' of the mouse - 'hyperlinks', where 'hyper' is perhaps to be considered as a notch higher in the order of things than 'super' ...
