Both the leading 'web-browser' programs are now free; and in Sweden at least, you can even get the whole Internet Service free if you want- the suppliers write off the costs as Public Relations, and receive their income from other, more-specialised, products.
Apart from this, there is a large amount of other material which can be downloaded free - typefaces, utility software, demonstrations, upgrades etc.
