  Soft - electronic information which is fed into a computer to determine what happens afterwards; includes, i.a.

- operative system, with extensions like

- drivers for printers, scanner, fax ...
- controls for screen, sound, time ...
- dictionaries for spelling checkers
- typefaces/fonts
- automated tasks
- artificial voices, speech recognition
- conversion between different formats

- productivity programs, for dealing with

- words
- pictures
- sound
- animation
- managing time ('personal organisers')

- tools for, i.a.

- maintenance, problem diagnosis and -solving
- file compression
- network connection
