The second computer was sitting in the shop without a price tag, just waiting for me: it had been there for a year or more and was their last Mac, so they were ready to sell it for half-price: it had a colour screen and a sound input and was the next generation in terms of what it could do, a Performa 630, and made it possible for me to start working with music and producing multi-media. |

Six months later, there was an offer from Apple, via Lydia, my star Tallinn MacGuru, of a Power Performa, a dream of functionality which I never thought I could afford - but again half-price, this time because it was an end-of-the-line model...
