The passive
concert - 2 of 2
After
the introductory movement of the music. the teacher begins
to read the text with natural intonations, giving, every
utterance its real meaning. The students are mentally
hypersensitive. Their physical energy is being transformed
into mental energy, which makes them highly receptive.
They are able to absorb much more than when they are physically
active.
At
the end of the concert (which should be timed perfectly
to end at precisely the time the class is scheduled to
end) the teacher exits. The students, however, can take
an extra few minutes to yawn, stretch, and finally get
up. The only guidelines laid down are that students leave
the classroom alone, without talking to their classmates,
in order to preserve the solemnity of the moment and to
allow the text and music to reverberate for as long as
possible inside them.
