A Renaissance alphabet - from a writing-book published in 1601

Using the program is fine - it's finding things in the Fontographer handbook which is the problem ...

I got as far as the small letters a c d e f g h i l m before other things felt more urgent... But when enough people ask for it, I will finish it off: I named it for one of the authors of the book, John De Beau Chesne.

The next thing is how to fix the size of the empty space between the letters - under 'spacing' they only talk about how far one letter sits from the next, 'kerning', not how much space there is around each letter in itself: but I guess that's just a question of dragging the border marker ...
