"We don't need computers here, do we?"
It's actually true, what everyone is saying, that during the last five
years or so, no less than revolution has taken place, both in how
people handle information, and how they choose to 'consume' the Arts
and other quality experiences.
At
home, at school, at the library and at work - it's everywhere, the computer. In Sweden, even
the tax authorities now see it as normal equipment in every home... I
who write these words har for many years been a strong opposed to
what I saw as a step towards a less human life - money is taken from
music teaching to strengthen the computer's grip, the salaries clerk
can't make an advance payment however much she'd like to 'because of
the computer', you can't get a train ticket because 'the computer is
down' ...
