A printing house was set up, and during the 24 years that the academia  functioned in Tartu, no less than 1,500 theses were printed - more than one per student - which found their way to libraries in many parts of Europe: some 50 them are still in Tartu, and the present library staff have gathered together photocopies of others, so that around 1,000 of them may now be seen in the university where they originated.
