Exploiting subliminal perception - 2 of 3

General Examples

a. Wall charts with linguistic material such as irregular verb forms or the word order in questions, etc., which hang unobtrusively among other posters without the students' attention ever being specifically drawn to their presence. (These charts can be left up for three to five lessons and then be replaced by other charts with new linguistic material.)

b. The singing of songs - almost all of which contain relevant grammar structures - for the sheer enjoyment of singing them, without analysing them.

c. Language games where students move about the classroom in such a way that different movements and different places serve as memory aids for different words, structures, and idioms.
