About the Artists

Martin Jonsson f 1917

Naivist. Breakthrough at Liljevalch's Spring salon in 1970 together with exhibitions in, i.a., Cannes, Milan, Rome and Boston.

Martin's painting often takes place in the old farming community, where the events are placed in the hay field, among the horses outside the stable or inside in the richly furnished surroundings of the stately manor houses.

In the community centre in Bollsta there is a complete suite of 30 paintings to illustrate Selma Lagerlöf's Story of Gösta Berling.

The game includes the following five works:

• The Major's wife of Ekeby and Gösta Berling at the house guest-house
• Christmas night in the smithy at Ekeby
• Gösta Berling at the ball given by Earl Dohna of Berg
• Gösta Berling and Anna Stjarnhök in the sledge
• Mid-summer, outside the church
