In my work as church musician, we're getting into the autumn season with a series of special events, next week is a great democratic manifestation of 'the church needs you', with a kind of study half-day where one of the caretakers will be host, I'm to get everyone singing, they'll break into small groups and people can say what they think is needed and what they can offer, then there's coffee and sandwiches done by the curate (i.e. not the people who usually get landed with all the dogsbody work), and a friendly service with lots of people doing their own thing, and everyone invited to contribute their favourite verse or whatever ...

Most interesting of all is that rector Stefan this morning said at coffee-time "and if you want to know anything just talk to me to David or Dagmar ..." and Dagmar's not even involved in any of it! I guess she gives a general impression of being a person who can give sensible answers to confused questions, and is a overall asset to any organisation ...
