So to the question of what sort of pieces they are.
The little bit of text there is, is in Italian; and the handwriting, layout of the page, and the style of the music (phrase-lengths, rhythms etc.), all point to a date around 1500, and then probably a member of the frottola family.
There are really two musical styles, clearly separate:
- one simpler, with the same rhythm in all the parts, a lighter style (nos. 2, 4, 5, 6); and
- one with more-complex rhythms, and short points of imitation, a more-serious style (nos. 1, 3, 7).
