Programmes which handle vector graphics -

a personal decision: 3 of 5

Pro FreeHand, anti Illustrator

on the other hand ...

- no multiple page layout in Illustrator

- but I have InDesign and PageMaker and have only once ever used FreeHand for page layout

- I bought FreeHand

- but it doesn't do what I want!

- FreeHand gives you RTF export

- but it actually produces junk code, I use WordPerfect instead ...

- Illustrator's auto-trace can't do fill, only outlines - "simple shapes and lines", for anything else they say use the program Streamline

- even if FreeHand doesn't show you a good pict, it gives you a real picture from what it does show (see options)

- when I try, FreeHand doesn't import the picts properly anyway

- I hardly ever need to do auto-trace anyway!

- I do like FreeHand's colour mixer much more ...

- OK, this is ONE advantage of Freehand over Illustrator ...
