A tool-box for talking!

This workshop is based on your active participation! It involves a series of short communicative activities in English to let you experience a variety of ways of communicating in a second language. The focus is on creating authentic communication in a teaching setting, based on the use of pictures - both 2-dimensional pictures and inner images. The workshop aims to tap into the reserves of imagination that help us to reach our creativity and use it as a language learning tool.

After every three or four activities there is time for reflection and questions - in Swedish or English depending on what your group feels like! The focus then is on what we have actually done from a language point of view, why it was done that particular way and, most importantly, how the ideas can be adapted for use in your own classes.

You will be working in a small group (of about three people) most of the time so there's plenty of time for you to talk, both in the activities and when reflecting! You can see the workshop as providing a tool box of teaching ideas to be used over and over again in different ways - the material is then yours to develop as you like!
