Dagmar came home one day and said, "We've got a meeting on Runö - there's a spare seat on the plane if you want to come...". Host organisation was the Nordic Association of Estonia (Föreningen Norden i Estland), and the focus of the meeting was how the Nordic Associations of the three Baltic countries could co-operate with one another, and with the offices of the Nordic Council of Ministers. |

Flat, sandy pine forests - a few hilly parts: all very green indeed - trees, wild grasses, hay-fields: how does it all grow on sand?! One main road of gravel, the smaller ones of sand, not hard-packed but loose-grained, same as the beach... Well-water in buckets, brought in milk-churns on a trolley... Dry indoor toilets... |
