The Luttrell Psalter is a book of psalms and prayers made around 1240 for the Luttrell family of Lincolnshire, well-known for its many and fascinatingly-detailed scenes of rustic life. David has started to make a font from the illuminated capitals and decorative motifs. The letters are made in two layers, the capitals give the basic filled-in letters, which you can also use on their own, and if you like you can add the decoration in another colour or with another effect by adding the lower case letter in another layer underneath. All 26 latin letters are done, and the ornaments from A to G: do download the font to try it: and do let us know what you think! |
