distinguishing bitmap fonts from TrueTypes - from two Mac samples
If you double-click on the font icon, both kinds show you whatever pangram (sentence with all the letters of the English alphabet) your system is programmed with.
- it used to be "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs" (or maybe 'jumps'?), I now get the meaningless, inferior and unnecessary ersatz "Cozy lummox gives smart quid who asks for job pen".
but the bitmap font shows it only at the one size, while the TrueType shows it at three sizes, 9, 12, & 18 points (on my set-up anyway - I think it's standard).
