autotrace in Streamline, second time around

With Adobe's Streamline, something very odd happened: I tried it several times, with the default settings, and then with lots of variations, because I really didn't want to accept that the programme simply didn't work, with a relatively simple task. But the best result I get was still completely unusable.

Then when I was writing up the notes to make this presentation, I found I hadn't kept the screen shots I took then, and had to do them again.

And guess what? Now the default settings produced a result that was just fine, first time around. Crazy ...

The odd thing is that

- FreeHand can't show pixel images well, but what it does show, it represents in full colour, both the strokes (outlines) and the fills (the colour in between the outlines);

- while Illustrator shows the pixel image very well, but can only give you the outlines - if you want any fills, you have to do them manually ...
