Illustrator
has a brush tool, whose function is 'adding
art to paths' - a really creative and far-sighted
step from the basics of bezier curves.
It
must mean that the programme stores quite
a lot of sophisticated information, not only
where the path goes, but how thick it is at
different points of its length, what is attached
to it at what intervals, and so on.
There
are four brush types - Calligraphic, Scatter,
Art, and Pattern brushes: here is a tiny sample.
