Ierapetra does also have a real live fishing harbour; sadly, as I get there, the clouds really burst, and my view of it is through a torrential downpour.

Ierapetra does also have a real live fishing harbour; sadly, as I get there, the clouds really burst, and my view of it is through a torrential downpour.
It also has a historic mosque - now evidently used as a rehearsal hall for a big-band.
There's a Venetian fort here too, but all the Venetian stuff is just more yellow stone, no decoration, no colour - not exactly what I associate with Venice at any time in its history!
Back to Sitia for the night, where there are no disappointments anway.
