A Venetian fortress town

As I drive into Sitia/Setia, I see a place that looks really appealing - an old stone building with lovely old wooden doors, even a hanging sign announcing that they sell, of all things, Woodpecker Cider ...

Turns out it's part of the walls of the 16thC. Venetian fort - a lovely setting for an evening meal; though unfortunately the fried cheese is just that, a piece of rather dry cheese simply fried and rather hard ... and the meat-balls, highly recommended, really taste of nothing more than the spices that have been added to them, hardly enhanced by the pile of luke-warm chips which accompany them ... Odd, really, since I was the only customer, and she has done it all specially for me ...
