another of these tangible benefits is that road signs on any major road are not only given in both Greek and Latin letters, but use different colours for the different alphabets - white for one and yellow for the other (of course I can't remember now which was which!), exactly what I've always felt was so necessary on motorways in Wales, where you can cause an accident while trying to work out which language you're reading.
