Canal-boat painting

I guess there are few, if any, working boats left these days, but otherwise the traditions are very much alive. For me the painting style is specially interesting, having so many links with other forms of the same thing - mediaeval manuscripts illumination, renaissance wall-paintings, baroque farmers' art - in places as far apart as Scandinavia, Russia and Hungary...
