What
is SEAL? - a view from Argentina
SEAL
is an organisation founded in the UK in 1983, to
promote holistic humanistic learning.
SEAL
is an umbrella organisation which fosters the development
of its ideas both in the UK and abroad.
It
could also be defined as an international society
exploring methods of learning, particularly those
which make use of the preconscious dimension.
SEAL
members are people who care about the future of
education, who regard constant innovation as essential
if education is to keep up with the progress of
knowledge and technology in our society.
They
need to stay informed and constantly pursue their
own personal development. SEAL offers them a network
to stay in touch with like-minded enthusiasts through
activities and events organised both in Argentina
and in other countries.
Benefits
of becoming a member?
The
benefits of membership are, amongst others, to receive
the Journals and Newsletters published twice a year
by the society in England, preferential fees for
all events organised in Argentina and England which
include biannual Conferences, and to join in the
network of like-minded people in more than twenty-four
countries in the world.
SEAL
publishes two journals and two newsletters that
are sent to members over a year. Members have also
the benefit of substantial discounts in all SEAL
events: workshops and conferences, both in Argentina
and in the UK.
And,
perhaps, most importantly SEAL can be the threshold
to enhance the quality of our life. Of course, this
clearly depends on our own deep intentions, as energy
flows where intention goes! An example of the wonders
that wonderful intention brings is reflected in
a letter that a member wrote to me, in answer to
a thank-you note that I had written to her for being
the constant support to SEAL activities in Argentina
since day one... In December 1998 Fabiana wrote:
'Dear
Vero,
It's
so relieving to know I have so many real friends
I can count on! Thank you for your caring
card. Now I need to be honest with you. I
don't support SEAL in Argentina out of generosity
but out of true selfishness.
SEAL
has helped me so much in discovering my own
self. Through SEAL I became aware of all my
potential. Though SEAL I realized that there
is a way and that I'm good enough to find
it....or that there are many ways, rather.
Through SEAL I discovered that I've got WINGS
and that flying is as easy as walking (though
much more fascinating). That flying entails
risks that are worth running. That there's
room in the air for me to fly; that there
are no limits in the sky unless I create them.
Through SEAL I learnt that there's not just
one dimension in my life but as many I'm willing
to accept.
This
list can be endless. That's why you needn't
be thankful to me. It's not something that
I do on a conscious level, but something that
has become part of my whole self. Or has my
self become part of it?
With
butterfly kisses and elephant hugs.
Lots
of love
Fabiana
