Amanda Bradley (UK)

Amanda is currently a Lecturer at Miyazaki International College, Miyazaki, Japan, with more than thirty years experience of teaching English and French as foreign languages in high schools and universities.

In addition to her MA Teaching SIT, VT.USA and RSA Dip. Cambridge UK, she has the Spanish Certificado de Aptitud Pedagogica Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, Madrid.

A member of SEAL and presenter at Canterbury 2001 on "Opera and the Open Mind", Amanda is also very interested in the work of Caleb Gattegno, Shakti Gattegno, Peter O'Connell, Jenny Rardin and Adrian Underhill.

Opening the language-learner's heart through Speech and Recitation

Based on an eclectic humanistic view of teaching that serves learning. We will explore Speech and Recitation as a particularly fitting vehicle for the language-learner's self-esteem. There will be a speech demonstration followed by participants' feedback, discussion and practical experience writing and reciting a speech. Focal points will be: acceptance/love of self frees us to accept/love others, culture goes hand-in-hand with language and Time keeps for us what comes from our heart.
