Victoria Gomez de la Lastra & María José Ferreyra

Victoria is an Educational Psychologist graduated from CAECE at the same time participating in el Servicio de Orientación Escolar.

Working career began in Northlands studying/treating dyslexia and gradually developing into different problems and projects. Lately working with Values among children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Motivated by the belief that to build a better world, one of our strongest resources are our young.

Maria José is a graduate of National University of Cordoba. One time assistant and Students' Advisor at IICANA Cordoba, teacher of English & Spanish for adults and elementary school students at Brookline Adult and Community Education Center, MA, and IES Schools, MA, and Grammar and Literature teacher at University of Massachusetts, et al.

Now in charge of the International Department at Primary Level at Northlands School, Olivos.

The outside world inside the school: Discrimination and Tolerance

The purpose of this work is to demonstrate how, through the use of solid theoretical foundations and with the intent of a positive change; it is possible to begin a path of reflection. To aspire to change without delving into our values, behaviours and opinions might prove to be an incomplete task, if what we hope to do is educate from our own example.

Teaching that enables comprehension and learning that allows both teachers and students to establish a dialogue across differences requires the creation of a space devoted to sharing knowledge and experience. To sum up, this is a systematized proposal to work on values and beliefs inside school.
